Our Church Council is pleased to share our recently completed Core Values. These values are a statement of who we are and how we live out our ministry together for Jesus Christ. They are also a commitment to “defend the faith that God has entrusted once for all time to His holy people” (Jude 3). In this tumultuous time in which we live, we stand upon the sure foundation of Jesus and His Word.
Biblical Authority – We believe the Bible is true, that it can be trusted, and that it is our rule for faith and practice. We stand on historic Christian beliefs, which arise from the Scriptures, in the Wesleyan tradition.
Christ is Lord – Jesus Christ, our Risen Savior, is Lord over all of heaven and earth. He is Lord of our lives and of our church. Therefore, in love and devotion, we dedicate ourselves to the ministry of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Where He leads, we will follow.
Discipleship – Because He first loved us, our hearts long to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. Through transformational spiritual practices, such as prayer, Life Groups and daily Bible reading, Bible studies and works of service, we seek to become more and more like Jesus.
Evangelism – Our calling from Jesus is to make disciples, who make disciples. We believe the Good News of Jesus really is good news. We believe that lost people really do matter to God, and that eternal destinies are on the line.
Relationship – God Himself is in eternal relationship – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – One God in Three Persons. The Scriptures declare, therefore, that God is love (1 John 4:8). Therefore, we will welcome all to come and see the Good News of Jesus Christ. We will love one another as a family in Christ, seeking unity in Christ. And we will pursue intimacy with God through daily fellowship in the Bible and prayer.
Serving – We seek to be the light and love of Christ in our community and beyond. We want people to see and experience Christ’s love and mercy, and we believe that we are the hands and feet of Christ in this world.
Spirit-Led Ministry – The Holy Spirit is the personal power and presence of God, third person of the Trinity. He gave birth to the Church, and guides and empowers the Church to this day. We will follow the leading of the Spirit, depending on God’s power to enable our ministry.
Worship – We believe worship is central to our lives as followers of Jesus, and vital for our life as a church family. As we worship the Lord, we set our eyes on Him, we align our hearts with Him, and we set our hope on Him.
